At an initial appointment, we first determine your oral health. We will often clean your teeth with standard preventive treatment.
If the initial appointment shows that there is gingivitis (inflamed gums) or periodontitis (advanced gingivitis), the dental hygienist will make a personal treatment plan for you and will explain what treatment is needed. In addition to the treatment plan, she will also explain what the treatment will cost. You will also receive information and instructions on how the periodontal problems arose and what you can do to keep your mouth healthy for as long as possible.
